Creative Counseling Program
The Apparel Industry Board, Inc. (AIBI) is proud to announce a new ?Creative Counseling Program?, a one-on-one mentoring opportunity for industry entrepreneurs to assist in improving their bottom lines and gaining insight to the apparel business.
AIBI was founded in 1987 by the late Mayor Harold Washington, is a delgate agency of the City of Chicago, Department of Community Development and continues under the iniatitives of Mayor Richard M. Daley whose interest in the fashion and apparel industry is well known. Our mission is to nurture and grow the fashion, apparel and sewn products industries in the Chicagoland area. For 22 years, we have worked with literally every resource company in the Greater Midwest that is used by our industry and have assisted thousands of young designers as they have mastered the art of creating a successful business.
COSTS
One mentoring session (1 hour) is charged at $150.00. (AIBI current members pay $100.00).Each additional or follow-up consultation ranges from $50 - $100 depending on the time and attention requested. Additional questions that arise after the meeting can simply be answered by phone, for which there is no fee.

From A to Z, the topic is driven by you! Our history allows us to cover every aspect of business operations: design concept, costing for profitability, business plans, sourcing materials, contractors and patternmakers, manufacturers and sample makers , PR and trade shows. Whatever you need help with, AIBI is here to help and has the connections and resources to be able to assist you!
BENEFITS
Each participant will receive access to the 2010 Directory of the Illinois Apparel and Sewn Products Industry. It is the only resource guide of its kind in our region and lists key vendors that you need to know. You can receive constructive feedback on your ideas and plans, allow us to help connect you to the right people, and we both win!
